The Month of November at Ryehills.

As we enter the penultimate month of the calendar year here is just a taste of some of the exciting activities and events we have planned at Ryehills this November! Make sure to check back here later on for more information regarding our Christmas plans for 2018.

Halloween Dress Up: (31st October)

To round off the month of October we invite all children and staff to get creative and come to Nursery in their 'spookiest' costume for Halloween. We will be having a Halloween inspired Party Tea, as well as, taking part in a number of themed activities throughout the day. The Babies and Two's will be taking part in pumpkin painting and pumpkin sensory exploration. Meanwhile, the Pre-Schoolers will be looking at the book 'Funny Bones', as well as, baking their very own Halloween cakes and making spooky jelly.

Bonfire Night: (5th November)

In preparation for Bonfire Night 2018 the Baby Room will be exploring marshmallow sensory activities including marshmallow painting and dough play. Whilst, the Two's and Pre-School will be creating firework pictures and making personalised rockets.

Diwali: (7th November)

To celebrate the Hindu 'Festival of Light' this year we will be having a themed lunch to celebrate, as well as, organising a number of activities to encourage the children to learn about the origin and history of Diwali. The Babies will be continuing their theme of colour and incorporating the festival of light into their activities. Over in the Two's Room, they will be creating henna pictures, exploring coloured rice and creating festive lanterns. Whilst, Pre-School will be focusing on making their own Diva Lamps.

Remembrance Day: (11th November)

In order to pay respect to those, past and present, who have served in the military the Children will be taking part in a number of activities, games and stories dedicated to our brave soldiers. Throughout the Nursery, Children will get the opportunity to create their own poppy pictures. Whilst, the Pre-Schoolers will be talking about 'people who help us' during circle time.

World Kindness Day: (13th November)

In order to celebrate the ideas and values behind World Kindness Day Pre-School and the Two's will be talking about kindness at circle time with a focus on our Nursery Values. The children will also get the opportunity to make a gift to show kindness to someone throughout the day.
