Staffing at Rye Hills Farm Day Nursery
Rye Hills Farm Day is managed by a Nursery Manager who has had 17 years of nursery experience the last 6 years managing Rye Hills Farm Day Nursery. She holds a level 4 childcare qualification and has 2 children of her own. She is supported by her Deputy Manager who also holds a level 4 childcare qualification and has had 9 years experience working in nurseries.
The Nursery is split into 3 areas babies, twos and pre-school. Six level 3 qualified nursery nurses work within the baby room under our baby team leader who has a foundation degree in early years. Five level 3 qualified nursery nurses work within our twos room under our twos team leader who has a level 4 childcare qualification. One level 3 nursery nurse and one level 2 nursery nurse works within our pre-school under our pre-school team leader who also holds a level 3 childcare qualification and has been working for Rye Hills Farm Day Nursery for 10 years.
The nursery staff have all been CRB checked and the team vary in ages from 19 years to 60 years. They are all able to offer their nursery experiences to the nursery and be off good sound role models to the children. A third of the nursery staff have children of there own so have parental experience also. We have a cook at the nursery who prepares and cooks the children’s meals on site. We also have a house keeping lady too who maintains the cleanliness of the nursery.
Before your child starts with us at Rye Hills Farm Day Nursery an induction takes place between parent, child and key person to build a strong bond and relationship from the beginning. Having a key person system in place gives all children the reassurance to feel safe and cared for. At our setting every child has a key person and a secondary named key person in their absence, as well as knowing the other members of the team in your child’s room.
Your child’s key person will build relationships with you as the child’s parents and ensure that information regarding your child is communicated effectively. Your child will have a key person who will help your child become familiar with the nursery and to feel confident. Your child’s key person will meet your child’s daily routine/needs and they will respond sensitively to your child’s feelings, ideas and behaviour. Your child’s key person will form a close relationship with your child but will not undermine the ties they have with you as their own parents. Your child’s key person will also hold a record on your child called a learning journal and they will share with you all information regarding your child’s development and progress.
Part of our equal opportunities policy states that we will give all children at our setting the opportunity to develop and learn in a caring and considerate environment. This would not be possible if a child didn’t feel safe and secure at our nursery. All of the nursery nurses that work at Rye Hills Farm day Nursery have a good understanding of the value of attachment therefore we are able to operate a successful key person system enabling all children to feel safe/secure, happy and confident whilst in our care.
Our pre-school team leader also has the role as our Special Educational Needs Co-coordinator. Her role is to follow our nursery Inclusion & Senco policy and support all children and their parents with additional needs.
